4 Month Portraits
We got Bailey's 4 month pictures taken today. She did GREAT for the photographer (as you can probably tell from the awesome pictures).
We will be including some of these pictures in the Christmas cards we send out. We are also able to order more online so if anyone is interested in doing so let us know and we can get you the login information.
First experimentation with rice cereal
On Nov. 6 we gave Bailey some rice cereal for the first time and boy was that an experience! Of course she made a big mess with it, but really she ate it well.
We made the mistake of putting a bib on her, thinking that would help keep her shirt clean. Really the bib just got in the way and made a bigger mess. We look forward to when she's more practiced and less messy eating her cereal.

Bailey's First Halloween
Bailey's first Halloween was fairly uneventful but it was still fun for us to dress her up and see her in her cute costume. This year Bailey was a pink poodle for Halloween.
On Friday the 30th I dressed Bailey in her costume and took her Trick or Treating at my work with the other kids (ok we just walked around, no candy involved). She did really well and of course everyone thought she looked adorable.
On Saturday the 31st we put her costume on her again and Bailey stayed content long enough for us to take a couple pictures, then she decided she was too hot and picture time was over. Even though she didn't wear the costume much it was so worth the purchase.

12 Weeks
I can't believe that Bailey is already 12 weeks old! She is getting so big and she is so much fun. It's amazing how much a baby can change every day. At her 2 month check-up she was 20.5 inches long and weighed 10 lbs 3 oz.
Bailey LOVES bath time. Even if she is cranky a bath always puts her in a good mood.
She really likes to spend time in her swing too.
She sleeps like an angel (and sometimes like a tiger...). She does great at night, usually sleeping from about 10:30pm to 6:30am without waking up.When she's awake she has a lot of happy time. She has the cutest smile!
Bailey is our little angel and we are enjoying every minute with her!

Baby Bailey is finally here!
Bailey Marie Burns was born on July 4th, 2009 at 3:00 am. She weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz and was 18.5 in long. It seemed like we waited forever but we're so excited that she is finally here!
I know I didn't do a very good job of keeping the blog updated the 2nd half of my pregnancy. I've added a couple pictures that we had taken that I just never got put on here. I'll be sure to continue adding pictures of baby Bailey as she gets bigger so everyone can see her grow!

I can feel baby move!
I think I might possibly have the most active baby ever! Every time a doctor tries to listen to her heartbeat they have a hard time because they say she's moving around so much, and now I understand where they're coming from. For about a week now I have felt her moving and kicking around in my stomach. I wasn't sure at first if I was really feeling her move or if it was just my imagination, but there's no mistaking it now!
It crazy how quickly they grow. A week ago the movements were so faint and small I wasn't even sure it was her but now they're getting much more pronounced - the last couple days it has sometimes taken me by surprise how strong the movements are. And they're so frequent. Aaron asked last night if she ever sleeps, and sometimes it doesn't seem like she does!

It's a ......... GIRL!
We had our sonogram today and found out that we're having a baby girl! We are both very happy about the news. Even more importantly, we learned that everything looks great with the baby and she appears to be healthy and doing well. That was such a relief to hear and see!
Having the sonogram was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. We started out staring at a blank screen and then they started the sonogram and all of a sudden there was a clear picture of a baby on the screen - our baby girl! She was moving around all over the place...she's definitely an active little one.
They were able to see all 4 chambers of her heart, make sure the key elements of her brain were there, find her kidneys and bladder and make sure her spine looked ok. They took measurements of her legs, stomach and skull and from that determined that she weighs about 14 ounces right now (which leaves me wondering where the rest of the weight I've gained has gone...). You could just see her little heart beating in her chest, it was incredible.
I think the coolest part was when they showed a close view of her face, it was so amazing - almost took my breath away.
The pictures above are from the sonogram. The first is a regular view of her face and upper body. The second is a 3d profile of her face, and the last is a 3d view of her face from the front. After today I cannot wait for her to get here so we can see her in person!

Hello! I decided a while back that once the baby arrives I would create a blog to post pictures and updates on Baby Burns so that everyone can stay updated. A friend suggested I start the blog now and track my progress throughout the pregnancy as well and I thought that was a great idea.
I've had many requests for pictures of my "baby bump" so here are a few photos of my ever-growing belly.
I had a checkup with the doctor today and she said everything still looks great. Baby's heartbeat is strong (although the little guy/gal really made the doctor search for the heartbeat today because he/she was moving around so much). Also at my appointment today we scheduled our sonogram. It's in 3 weeks, on Feb. 25th. Aaron and I continue debating whether or not we should find out if it's a boy or girl. He wants to know but all along I've said I want to be surprised. However...as the time gets closer I'm getting more curious and I really want to start buying lots of baby stuff so I think I'm going to give in and find out. I'll definitely let you know what we end up deciding and what the result is!
